What Is A Pixel Pitch?

What Is A Pixel Pitch?

Pixel Pitch is the measure of space between individual pixels on a monitor, usually in millimeters, from the center of the pixel to the edge of an adjacent pixel. This is commonly associated with pixel density and resolution, as the lower pixel pitch measurements mean higher resolution and sharper visual clarity as a result. However, this does not mean that higher pixel pixel pitch counts are inherently worse and it all depends on the distance you are viewing from. Some recommend the 10x rule, where the viewing distance for the display can be calculated by multiplying the pixel pitch by ten to get the recommended distance in feet.
