What Is Plane-to-Line Switching?

Plane-to-Line Switching (PLS) is a liquid-crystal display (LCD) panel technology developed by Samsung as an IPS-class variant. It maintains the in-plane rotation of liquid crystal molecules (parallel to the substrates) while optimizing electrode geometry and cell design to enhance viewing angles, optical efficiency, and color accuracy compared to early IPS/TN designs.
